Fibroblast Treatments

What is a Plasma Fibroblast Therapy?

Plasma fibroblast therapy, also called plasma skin resurfacing, is a skin treatment designed to improve the look of your skin by increasing the number of fibroblasts, the collagen- and protein-producing cells in your skin. Plasma fibroblast therapy is an aesthetic procedure some healthcare providers may offer as an alternative to laser, injections, or surgical therapies to tighten and improve the appearance of skin. It is fairly new to the North American market.

Plasma fibroblast therapy targets fibroblasts. These are collagen– and protein-producing cells in the dermis, the layer of skin just below your outermost skin layer. Fibroblasts play an important role in helping skin wounds heal as well as maintaining skin firmness and tightness.

Plasma fibroblast therapy uses a pen-like device that discharges a high-frequency electric current to small areas of the skin.

The plasma tip doesn’t directly touch the skin, but instead releases a targeted current just above the skin. The hot current creates small holes, or micro-injuries, in the skin’s layer.

According to an 2019 article published in the PMFA journal, the thermal disruption, or heat damage, from plasma fibroblast therapy: Breaks down proteins in the skin, encourages tissue regeneration, stimulates fibroblast activity, causes tissue contraction (tightening)

Plasma Shower Treatments

Plasma shower treatments are ideal for skin rejuvenation with no needles and no downtime which makes it a perfect pairing for Fibroblast treatments. Plasma also calms inflammation and promotes healing which will aid your fibroblast treatment healing speed.

Each fibroblast treatment series will come with one complementary Plasma Shower just after your initial treatment. It is highly recommended that you budget an additional 2-3 plasma showers for optimal results.

In addition to post-Fibroblast treatment, plasma showers sterilize propionibacterium on contact, both on the skin and deeper within the pores. This means that a plasma shower will immediately reduce further bacterial acne. Even better, plasma showers can be combined with corrective skin peeling, BioRePeels, and many other advanced skin treatment options!

How exactly does it work?

For maximum results, a smooth head is used with our plasma device at the end of any advanced skin treatment, as this increases the cell absorption and serum delivery with stable cavitation. It also works to stimulate blood circulation and the lymphatic system, strengthens skin elasticity, and stimulates collagen generation.

Clinical trials showed a 60% higher skin moisture retention after 2 weeks and improved skin texture by up to 11% after 4 weeks.

Reversal of ageing effects of fine lines and wrinkles by up to 26% after 4 weeks.

Skin density improvements by up to 14% and inner skin elasticity improvements by up to 10% after 4 weeks.

Please note: Plasma shower treatment is completely painless and has zero downtime!
